Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2009-2010, the List Collection is comprised of posters and limited-edition prints that have been commissioned by the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York to complement and enrich its productions of performing arts. Major American artists-including Andy Warhol, Helen Frankenthaler, Jacob Lawrence, Robert Rauschenberg, and Larry Rivers-have produced prints for the collection.
Since four to six prints are commissioned each year, the List Collection provides a unique opportunity to survey American art during the second half of the 20th century and into the present day. Minimalism, Pop Art, Color Field and Abstract Expressionism are among the art movements represented in this outstanding collection of prints. The exhibition is organized and circulated by the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, New York.
