Light Works: Photographs from the Collection

September 18, 2010 - December 12, 2010

From Eadweard Muybridge’s 19th-century photographic studies of animal locomotion to Richard Misrach’s contemporary chromogenic prints, this exhibition spans the history of photography. Alfred Stieglitz, Edward Curtis, Ansel Adams, Dorothea Lange, Diane Arbus, Richard Avedon and many other celebrated photographers will be included in this exhibition drawn from the KIA collection. Curated by Kalamazoo photographer Gary Cialdella, the exhibition is offered in conjunction with the 2010 Midwest Conference of the Society for Photographic Education (Sept. 30 to Oct. 2) at the Frostic School of Art, Western Michigan University.
