Docent are among our most dedicated and hard-working volunteers, helping us complete our mission to bring art to everyone.
Interested in Becoming a Docent?
Docents are trained to help visitors of all ages find a deeper understanding and appreciation of art via our exhibitions. To become a KIA docent, you need no prior knowledge of art, just a willingness to learn, the enthusiasm to share your love of learning, comfort with public speaking, and a flexible schedule. Candidates will learn about touring and engagement techniques, as well as art history and art processes. Docents sign up to lead 1-2 tours a month, for a total of 15 per year. For more information, email Shannon Karol.
