Dear Friend,
Thank you. Your ongoing support continues to shape the lives of community members across Southwest Michigan through the visual arts at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. We have a distinct cultural mission at the KIA. As a museum and art school, we share knowledge and ideas that are relevant and enhancing to our lives as a community of engaged learners. We spark and nurture the creativity of community youth. From preschool programs to school tours and summer camps to the High School Area Show, we teach skills and provide the guidance and confidence needed to help youth pursue their dreams.
We believe the visual arts are for everyone. Every day, we share superb works of art that uplift and unify the community by illuminating an inclusive and exciting story of American art and culture. We highlight the work of regional artists to demonstrate our local heritage within the nation’s creative landscape.
Art can help us make sense of the world. Our community needs the KIA to remain as a safe space where everyone can explore history and cultures to learn and grow together.
Today, we hope we can count on your support.
Sincerely,
Bill Parfet, Board President and Belinda Tate, Executive Director
